23.6x31.5 in ~ Painting, Oil
Vernissages (exhibition previews) have taken a different format in 2020. For my exhibition at Galerie Inspirée in Azille (11) in August we had to limit the number of viewers in the galerie at one time.
Angela the galeriste and her husband Matthew entertained guests in their garden next door, with wine and music until people could view the paintings.
I spent the afternoon in the gallery explaining the inspiration and locations of my work, but popped over to the garden for a glass of wine and this tableau was wonderful;
the relaxed poses, the blues being played on the guitars and especially the light coming through the trees, it really put Matthew in the spotlight in his white trousers, shirt and hat.
Otherwise engaged I couldn't paint it at the time so took a number of photographs to work from later.
I loved working on this in the studio, I hope you enjoy viewing it.
